Smoked Taillights

When it comes to customizing your car, there are countless options to choose from. One popular modification that has gained traction in recent years is smoked taillights. But what exactly are smoked taillights, and why are they so popular? In this blog post, we will explore the science behind smoked taillights and delve into the reasons why car enthusiasts are opting for this modification.

What are smoked taillights?

Smoked taillights, also known as tinted taillights, are a modification where the lights are manufactured in a dark translucent ABS Plastic which is the case with MOST of our products or they can be 2 pac painted with a tinted clear or there are companies out there who utilize a dark film is applied to the taillight lenses. This darkening of the lenses reduces the amount of light emitted from the taillights, giving them a darker, more aggressive appearance.

We recommend taillights be either manufactured in the darker lens or 2 Pac tinted over an external film product.

Why are smoked taillights popular?

There are several reasons why smoked taillights have become a popular choice among car enthusiasts:

1. Aesthetics

Smoked taillights give a sleek and modern look to any vehicle. The darkened lenses create a sense of mystery and sophistication, adding an element of style to the car's overall appearance.

2. Customization

Car enthusiasts love to personalize their vehicles, and smoked taillights offer a simple and affordable way to do so. With a wide range of shades available, individuals can choose the level of darkness that best suits their taste and complements the car's color.

3. Enhanced visibility

Contrary to popular belief, smoked taillights do not compromise safety. The film used in smoked taillights is carefully designed to maintain the necessary level of visibility required by traffic laws. The darkened lenses do not significantly reduce the brightness of the taillights when illuminated, ensuring that other drivers can still see the vehicle's braking and signaling.

4. Protection

In addition to their aesthetic appeal, smoked taillights also provide an extra layer of protection for the taillight lenses. The film acts as a barrier against scratches, UV rays, and other environmental factors that can cause damage over time. This helps to preserve the condition of the taillights and prolong their lifespan.

In conclusion

Smoked taillights are a popular modification among car enthusiasts due to their aesthetic appeal, customization options, enhanced visibility, and protective qualities. Whether you choose to apply the film yourself or seek professional installation, smoked taillights can transform the look of your vehicle and make a bold statement on the road.
